Attaching the Sling Mate

Step 1: Attach Top Buckle

Locate the metal clasp on the Sling Mate.
Clip it onto the top portion of your sling.
This works with nearly all slings available on the market.

Step 2: Attach Bottom Buckle

Place the bottom buckle on the lower third of your sling.
Two attachment options:
1. Use Velcro to wrap around the sling.
2. Unthread the strap through the buckle and re-thread around the sling or strap.

Step 3: Position Correctly

Ensure the buckle sits on the side you prefer.
Ambidextrous: Works for both right- and left-handed shooters.

4. Using the Sling Mate

Put your sling on your shoulder as normal.
Take the free end of the Sling Mate strap, wrap it under your opposite arm, and buckle it.
Adjust the strap for snugness.

Now, your sling will stay firmly on your shoulder without sliding, freeing both hands for climbing, glassing, or carrying gear.

5. Removing the Sling Mate

When you’re ready to shoulder your rifle or remove the sling:

Hold the butt of your gun.
Unclip the Sling Mate buckle.
Slide the sling off your shoulder.

It’s just as quick as removing a sling without the Sling Mate.

6. Storing the Sling Mate

You have two storage options:

Use the Keeper Strap (Velcro):
- Roll the Sling Mate into a compact bundle.
- Insert it into the keeper and fasten to your sling.
Alternative Storage:
- Place in your backpack, fanny pack, or pocket.
