Fletching Jig knob for 3 vane arrows

$25.00

The 3 Fletch Knob is an upgraded 120º knob for your Vane Master PRO fletching jig. With this knob, you can fletch at a 120º angle while aligning your nock with the cock vane facing up. Additionally, it allows you to fletch at a 120º angle with the cock vane positioned at 90º, which is ideal for setting up fletching clearance for recurve shooting. Each VMP comes standard with this knob; this would be a replacement matching the one included with your VMP purchase.

Crafted for Consistency

Each knob is designed for consistency in fletching.

Trust by Professionals

Professional archers and hunters worldwide trust the VMP to build the perfect arrow setup.

Strong & Durable Materials

Each knob is made from high-strength, durable Delrin plastic. Making it highly durable, lightweight, and consistent.

1. Start with Zero Setting

  • Set the back knob to “0”.

  • At this setting, the nock and cock vane will align perfectly if you are fletching straight (no helical or offset).

2. Adjust for Helical or Offset

  • If you apply a helical or offset (e.g., 3° left helical), the cock vane and the nock will no longer align naturally.

  • To fix this, rotate the back knob until the nock realigns with the cock vane.

  • Each arrow diameter, vane length, and helical amount may require a slightly different knob adjustment.

3. Confirm Alignment Before Fletching

  • Place the arrow in the jig and perform a dry fit (no glue).

  • Check that the cock vane is aligned with the nock after the adjustment.

  • Once aligned, proceed with gluing your vanes.

4. Benefit: Single Vane Replacement

  • By aligning from the beginning, you can later replace just one vane without refletching the entire arrow.

  • If a vane falls off:

    1. Insert the arrow back into the jig.

    2. Because the nock and cock vane were aligned initially, the jig will position the missing vane in the correct spot.

    3. Apply glue and re-fletch only that vane.

⚠️ Important: If you rotate the nock after fletching (instead of adjusting the knob before), it will be almost impossible to return to the exact original alignment later. Unless you mark your nock, you will not be able to re-fletch a single vane accurately.

5. Record Your Settings

  • Since every setup is different (arrow diameter, vane length, helical amount), there is no universal “standard” setting.

  • Experiment with your arrows and note the knob setting once you achieve perfect alignment.

  • Keep a record (ex: “.246 shaft, 3° helical, knob at 2L”). This ensures you can repeat the same setup in the future.

6. Optional Use

  • Using the VMP knob is optional. Many archers prefer to leave it at 0 and simply re-fletch the entire arrow if a vane falls off.

  • However, if you want the flexibility of re-fletching just one vane, the knob must be used and properly set at the start.
