FlightCheck Paper Tuner (Item #: FTC1001)
FlightPaper Roll (Item #: FPR1001)
Place your FlightCheck on a stable surface (tripod, floor stand, vise, or wall mount).
Remove the pins from below the rubber rollers to allow them to open/close.
Remove the paper from between the rollers. Press down on the lower roller to open the gap and remove the paper from between the rollers.
Remove the plastic bow holder cap that’s installed on the end of the roller rod.
Remove the rod holding the old paper roll on, keeping in mind the orientation and placement of the pieces and components.
Put the Delrin bushings on each end of the new FlightPaper roll.
Position the new roll of FlightPaper in the exact location at the top of the FlighCheck, and then slide the stainless rod back through all the components and the new roll.
Reinstall the outside rubber bow holder cap.
Ensure the new roll is centered on the stainless steel rod.
Carefully remove the tape securing the FlightPaper roll—do not cut into the paper.
Do not discard the first wrap; this will serve as your lead edge.
Orientation: The printed aiming dots and tuning instructions must face the shooter when the roll is loaded, and you unwrap the paper.
Ensure the roll will feed downward and forward across the tuning window.
The roll will open, lay over the crossbar, and then feed downward towards the bottom of the FlightCheck frame near the rubber rollers.
Pull down the movable rubber roller and insert the silver pin that locks the roller open. Do this on both sides. This opens the rollers, allowing you to install the paper with ease.
Pull the leading edge of the paper downward from the top roller.
Feed it between the upper and lower rollers so it travels smoothly across the tuning window.
Once the paper is between the rollers, with a few inches through, push down on the roller, remove the pin, and let the rollers clamp down on the paper. Do this on both sides. Once done, pull down on the roller and gently pull on the paper to help straighten it if needed after pressure is applied. You can pull down the roller on either side, shimmying the paper as is necessary to get it perfectly straight inside the rollers.
Adjust the tension using the tension adjustment screws located at the bottom of the FlightCheck frame. First, tighten the tension adjustment screws, and then rotate the handle to apply paper tension. Ensure the paper is smooth.
The paper should feel firm when tapped but still be able to advance by hand with steady pressure.
Avoid overtightening—too much pressure may cause wrinkles or tears in the paper during shooting.
Printed dots face the shooter.
The paper is centered and smooth (no ripples or sag).
The window area is fully covered by paper.
The frame is stable and level.
After each shot group, turn the roll or gently pull the free end downward to advance new target dots into position.
Replace the roll once the current one is fully used.
Keep the paper tight for the cleanest tear results.
Each roll includes 113 target templates with 42 aiming dots, totaling 4,746 shootable dots.
Advance paper in small increments to maximize roll life.
Store rolls upright and in a dry area to prevent curling and maintain a consistent feed.
Issue: Paper wrinkles or sags
Solution: Tighten both tension screws against the FlightCheck rollers, and then rotate the handle until the paper is tight.
Issue: Paper drifts to one side
Solution: Remove the spring-loaded pressure, center the roll in the cradle, add tension to the paper, and reapply the tension.
Issue: Paper slips while shooting
Solution: Add more tension to the springs that add pressure to the roll. There are notches for the spring pins, allowing you to add more pressure as the paper roll becomes smaller. When more spring tension is added, rotate the handle to add additional tension to the paper. This ensures an overall tight system with little to no movement.
Issue: Printed dots face away from the shooter
Solution: Reverse the roll orientation and reload into the FlightCheck frame.
